Factors affecting vegetable production :
Basically there are two factors which affect the vegetable production these are:-
1. External factor
2. Internal factor
1. Internal factor :
À. Genetic or heredity
B. Crop growth
Genetic factors
🍄 high yielding ability,
🍄 early maturity,
🍄 resistance to lodging,
🍄 Drought, flood, and salinity tolerance,
🍄 Tolerance to insect and pest disease crop quality ,
There character are less on influenced by environmental factor since they are governed by genetic makeup of crop.

External factor
A. Climatic factor
B. Edaphic factor
C. Biotic factor
Factors affecting vegetable productionA. Climatic factor :-
🍄 nearly 50% of yield is affected to the influence of climate factors.
🍄 the following are the atmospheric weather variables which influence the crop production:-
• precipitation
• temperature
• atmospheric
• humidity
• solar radiation
• wind velocity
• Atmospheric gases
Precipitation
🍄 It includes all water which falls from atmosphere such as rainfall, snow, hail, fog, and dew.
🍄 rainfall one of the most important factor influence the vegetation of the place.
🍄 total precipitation in amount and distribution greatly affects the choice of cultivated species in the place.
Temperature
🍄 Temperature is a measure of intensity of heat energy.
🍄 it influence the distribution of Crop plant and vegetation.
🍄 germination, growth, and development of Crop are highly influenced by temperature.
🍄 affects leaf production, expansion and flowering.
🍄 physical and chemical process within the plant are governed by air temperature.
Relative humidity
🍄 Water is present in the atmosphere in the form of invisible water vapour, normally known as humidity.
🍄 Relative humidity influence the water requirements of crop.
🍄 Relative humidity of 40 to 60% it is suitable for most of the crop plants.
🍄 very few crops can prepare well when relative humidity is 80% and above.
🍄 water relative humidity is high there is chance for the outbreak of pest and disease.
Light
🍄 from generation to harvest and even post harvest crop are affected by solar radiation.
🍄 biogas production by photosynthesis process required light.
🍄 all physical process taking place in the soil, plant and environment are dependent on light.
Wind velocity
🍄 Cause soil erosion
🍄 increase evaporation.
🍄 spread of disease and pest.
🍄 disposal of pollen and seeds.
🍄 enormous wind damage crops and plant.
🍄 it carries moisture and heat.
🍄 carry fresh carbon dioxide for photosynthesis
Atmospheric gases
🍄 Carbon dioxide is important for photosynthesis.
🍄 Oxygen is important for respiration (plant and animal)
🍄 Nitrogen is important for plant nutrition.
🍄 Certain gas is toxic to plant such as so2, CO, CH4 , HF.... etc.
B. Edaphic factor ( soil )
The soil factors that affect crop growth and productivity are ( factors affecting vegetable production) :-
• soil moisture
• soil air
• soil temperature
• soil mineral matter
• soil organic matter
• soil organisms
• soil reaction [PH]
C. Biotic factors
These are the the biotic factor that affect the vegetable production :-
•insects and paste.
• bacteria
• fungi
• viruses
• nematodes
• rodents
• weeds
• domestic and wild animals .
